I love art tools that are artistic on their own. This set fits the bill to a T. Included in the set is a brush washing cup and a small palette. The cup features a carved rim that doubles as a brush rest with multiple places to place your brush and it won't roll off. Inside the bottom, carved ridges provide some texture to help clean your brush. The cup itself has four carved eyes, each in a different color and carved in the style of classical sculptures. Each one is framed by an arch, and surrounded by an intricate hand painted floral pattern inspired by folk art. The bottom part also features glaze "bricks" matching the interior and rim glaze. The palette references the classic kidney shape, and the hole means that it can be hung to display on a hook or a nail when not in use. The design on the bottom of the palette echoes that of the cup.
